Healthy trees and woodlands, established, cared for and enjoyed within communities.

Forest of Avon is a charity with a clear and inspiring mission: to work with communities and partners to establish, nurture and benefit from flourishing trees and woodlands across the region. Their focus is threefold: creating new tree and woodland habitats, caring for existing ones, and offering health and wellbeing activities that connect people with nature.

Their work is guided by the Forest of Avon Plan, endorsed by the four unitary authorities, the West of England Combined Authority, and the West of England Nature Partnership. The plan brings all partners together to work towards shared targets for people and nature, enhancing habitats and wildlife connectivity while giving communities the chance to enjoy local green spaces. From planting trees in the right places for long-term survival, to reducing flooding, building wildlife corridors and supporting sustainable timber use, every action is designed to make a lasting difference.

Priority areas include Lower Woods, the most extensive area of ancient woodland in the West of England, North Somerset Woodlands, the Mendip Hills and Cotswold National Landscapes, and Bathscape. The challenge, as Forest of Avon put it, is to speed up community efforts for the large-scale environmental impact our region so urgently needs.

We are delighted to introduce We Are Audio, one of our brilliant Studio 4 residents here at Utility House.

A Sound For Picture Company.

We Are Audio is a creative audio company providing sound for picture post production, branding, music, and live broadcast projects. Founded by co-founders Ben Mason and Ruth Rainey, the company brings together two exceptional careers rooted in a genuine love of sound and storytelling.

Ben grew up as an engineer at Konk Studios in London, a legendary space where he had the privilege of working with some of the biggest names of the British indie scene, including Arctic Monkeys, Florence and the Machine, Razorlight and The Kooks. Moving into post production, he began applying the techniques and analogue sensibility he developed in music to the world of sound for picture, bringing something a little different to every dubbing mix he works on.

Ruth cut her teeth in a busy audio post house in Soho, working across TV and radio advertising before discovering sound design and never looking back. With experience spanning film promos, animation, documentary, corporate films, audio books, short films, podcasts, trailers and video games, she brings a deep understanding of how sound can paint a picture, create a mood, and tell a story beyond what the eye can see.

Together, their philosophy is simple: sound without a story is just noise. Every project is built on storytelling, empathy, mood and emotional impact. Recent clients include Hasbro Entertainment and Mas+ by Messi.

We are delighted to introduce Andrew Morgan, our talented Studio 2 residents here at Utility House.

Composer. Orchestrator. Multi-instrumentalist.

Andrew W. Morgan is a Bristol-based composer, orchestrator and multi-instrumentalist whose hybrid background in both contemporary classical and non-classical music has established him as a highly versatile creative, equally at home bridging the musical and technical demands of albums, films, TV series and games.

Andrew holds a Masters in Composition from the Royal Academy of Music in London, where he went on to become a Fellow of Composition, and a Bachelor’s in Composition from DePaul University in Chicago. His informal education has been equally rich, shaped by years of close collaboration with some of the most respected names in music, including a 15-year working relationship with Neil Davidge of Massive Attack.

His project credits are remarkable in their range, spanning Halo 4, Star Wars Visions for Aardman and Lucas Films, Robin Robin for Netflix, Criminal Record for Apple TV, and the Sky original series Britannia. Alongside his composition and orchestration work, Andrew conducts recording sessions, leads score preparation and supervision, and offers a full remote recording rig for projects of all scales.

Andrew is also a dedicated educator, serving as Senior Lecturer at BIMM University Bristol for over a decade, and has guest lectured at institutions including Bath Spa University, Columbia College Chicago, and the Cannes Film Festival’s American Pavilion. His archives at the British Library document both the music of the Himba Tribe in northern Namibia and his collaboration with American saxophonist Ken Vandermark.
